About Us

Our journey began in White River, Mpumalanga, where we started farming tobacco in 1986. Those early years laid the foundation for a lifetime of farming, hard work, and perseverance. In 1998, we planted our first macadamia orchards. As the years passed, we gradually phased out tobacco production and expanded our macadamia operation while also establishing citrus orchards. Farming has always been more than a business to us—it has been a way of life and a passion that has shaped our family’s journey.

In 2018, we purchased this beautiful property in the Grietjie Private Nature Reserve. The old farmhouse was completely demolished, and we started from scratch. We first built the chalet, followed by our family home and the lapa. Every step of the journey was driven by a vision of creating something truly special.

As time went on, that vision evolved into an even greater dream—to create a place where guests from around the world could experience the tranquility of the African bush, its incredible wildlife, and the warm hospitality that South Africa is known for.

In October 2025, Mazuri Shamba Safari Lodge proudly opened its doors.
